LifeWear Elastic Shoulder Immobilizer (LWC06) is an orthopedic support/brace designed to immobilize the shoulder and arm. It uses elastic and soft supports (foam, straps, chest wrap) to stabilize the shoulder joint, reduce movement, and assist recovery after injury or surgery to the shoulder (e.g. dislocation, post-operative, soft tissue injury).

• Holds the shoulder so that movement is limited — helps prevent further injury, reduce pain.
• Useful in post-operative care (after shoulder surgery) to ensure stabilization during healing.
• Helps with shoulder dislocation recovery or soft tissue (ligament, tendon) injuries around shoulder joint.
• Post-operative shoulder care (after surgeries) to reduce motion and allow tissues to heal.
• Shoulder dislocations or subluxations, to limit motion that might aggravate injury.
• Soft tissue injuries (ligament, tendon) where immobilization helps reduce pain and prevent further damage.

How to Use It Properly

1. Select the correct size — measure chest width / shoulder girth as per LifeWear’s size chart. A snug fit helps immobilization. An ill-fitting one will either be too loose (arm moves) or too tight (uncomfortable, risk of cutting off circulation).
2. Place on correct shoulder/arm — ensure the injured arm goes into the correct side. The “cup” or padded area should align over the shoulder joint.
3. Secure the chest wrap first so the immobilizer doesn’t shift when you adjust the arm straps.
4. Adjust straps carefully so that the shoulder and arm are held in a stable but comfortable position; avoid forcing extreme posture.
5. Check comfort — pressure points, skin irritation, nerve tension (e.g. pins & needles) should be avoided. If present, adjust or loosen.
6. Wear time as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Remove briefly for skin hygiene / ventilation.
7. Maintenance — keep the straps clean, dry; wash or wipe foam/elastic per manufacturer instructions; ensure Velcro fasteners stay functional.
