The Abbott FreeStyle Optium Neo H is a blood glucose and blood ketone monitoring system designed for professional/clinical use. It combines glucose and β-ketone testing in a single meter and uses dedicated FreeStyle Optium Neo H Blood Glucose Test Strips and FreeStyle Optium H Blood β-Ketone Test Strips.

Blood Glucose Testing

The system measures blood glucose using compatible Optium Neo H glucose strips. Abbott specifies a glucose measurement range of approximately 1.1–27.8 mmol/L (20–500 mg/dL) for the Optium Neo H system. The system has been evaluated against laboratory reference testing and met the applicable ISO 15197 accuracy requirements cited by Abbott.

Ketone Testing

The meter can also measure blood β-hydroxybutyrate (β-ketone) using the dedicated FreeStyle Optium H Blood β-Ketone Test Strips. Abbott describes blood β-ketone testing as useful for detecting elevated ketones.
